And some ruminations from Rumsfeld, who is quoted as saying: "Oh, we make up the rules as we go along. What the heck."

Draft Boards Spring Back Into Action After Years of Neglect / Front Page -The Olympian

Now there's talk of reinstating the draft. Students would not avoid it this time, unlike during Vietnam. However, a student would be able to finish out the semester.

Sunny day. Crocus blooming, daffodils about to. Would almost make one believe all is right with the world.

Congratulations! Let me send you on an 'all expense' paid trip to Iraq. Or can I interest you in South Korea?

Had a message this morning for my son, from a recruiter from the Marines. "Just wanted to see how everything's going, where you see yourself going, and maybe see if I can give you a hand for your future...." Hmmm. In other words, we want to send more young men to Iraq..

Well, here I am, joining the world of 'blogging'...something new and different to try.
Inspired a bit by Salam Pax; http://dear_raed.blogspot.com/; though I must say at the moment, not in as much danger.
I am trying to make sense of the things that are happening in the world. Today on the news, as I heard about
the Chicago nightclub incident, I couldn't help but think of how self centered so many people are. In a panic to save themselves, trampling others. "Oh, did I just step on something?" I only hope if something does 'come down the pike' that I'm at home when it happens...
