The 'Yes, Massa' Option

Once again Democrats have run from the Republicans, cowering with their tails tucked between their legs, giving in to political threats and agreeing to filibuster only in 'extraordinary circumstances'.

You can bet dollars to doughnuts that there will be extended argument and name calling over what constitutes an 'extraordinary circumstance'. Indeed, Scott McClellan is already insisting that the pubs will continue demanding and 'up or down vote'.

Nearly all of the elements of an abusive relationship are apparent in the parrying parties, with the pubs in the role of bullying abuser, and dems playing victim.

It's time for the dems to stop cringing and to stand up against the intimidation; time to follow through on a solid plan of action that will put an end to the manipulations; time to grow a spine.

The Pinocchio Option

Will the lies never end?

"After it happened, all the people in positions of authority went out of their way to script this," Patrick Tillman said. "They purposely interfered with the investigation, they covered it up. I think they thought they could control it, and they realized that their recruiting efforts were going to go to hell in a handbasket if the truth about his death got out. They blew up their poster boy."

"Maybe lying's not a big deal anymore," he said. "Pat's dead, and this isn't going to bring him back. But these guys should have been held up to scrutiny, right up the chain of command, and no one has."

This lie was to cover their image. I think there's a lot more yet that we don't even know, or they wouldn't still be covering their tails.

Senator Byrd on the Nuclear Option

Any cabbage head falling off of the turnip truck could have thought of that one. Let's call it 'The Turnip Option'.

Step back from the precipice...step back from the abyss...

Nuclear: adj 1: (weapons) deriving destructive energy from the release of atomic energy; "nuclear war"; "nuclear weapons"; "atomic bombs"
